Appendix A
Known Elected and Appointed Officials
Colorado County, Republic of Texas
The following data is derived from Election Returns, RG 307, Secretary of State Papers,
Texas State Archives, Austin and from Colorado County Commissioners Court Minutes,
Books A and 1, and is presented in as circumspect and precise manner as possible. In many
cases, information has been impossible to obtain. For instance, the reports on constabulary
elections seem to be quite incomplete, and there was no reported coroner's election in 1841.
Consequently, the dates that the constables left office, and the date that John Toliver left
the coroner's office, have been impossible to determine.
